Role Overview:
EcoSikh is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Web Developer & Digital Sustainability Specialist to drive our online presence and support our environmental initiatives. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our digital platforms, leveraging your technical skills and understanding of Sikh teachings to inspire and mobilize action for sustainability. This role requires a unique blend of technical proficiency, environmental awareness, and cultural sensitivity.
Responsibilities:
- Website & Application Management:
- Maintain, update, and optimize EcoSikh’s WordPress websites, ensuring seamless functionality and engaging design.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain web applications and hybrid mobile apps (React Native, Apache PhoneGap, or Ionic).
- Manage website hosting (cPanel, VPN) and domain accounts.
- Digital Marketing & Online Engagement:
- Collaborate with the media team and campaign managers to execute effective social media campaigns (SMO, SMM).
- Design and manage Google Ads campaigns, including landing page creation.
- Implement SEO strategies to enhance website visibility and organic reach.
- Build and strengthen EcoSikh’s online brand presence.
- Run online fund raising campaigns.
- Technical Support & Communication:
- Provide technical support for webinars and online meetings (Zoom).
- Manage and respond to webform inquiries.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Communicate effectively in both English and Punjabi (written and verbal).
- Sustainability & Sikh Values Integration:
- Utilize knowledge of Sikh teachings and principles to inspire and motivate environmental sustainability projects.
- Ensure all digital content and campaigns align with EcoSikh’s mission and values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Strong back-end development skills: PHP (procedural).
- Database management: MySQL.
- WordPress development and customization (themes and plugins).
- Mobile app development: React Native, Apache PhoneGap, or Ionic.
- Payment gateway integration: PayPal, PayTm, Stripe (or similar).
- Experience with cPanel and VPN hosting.
- Google Ads, SEO, SMO, SMM.
- Adobe Photoshop.
- MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Zoom.
- Other Requirements:
- Strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
- Knowledge of Sikh teachings and principles.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Punjabi.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Own laptop suitable for the role.
- Portfolio of relevant web development and digital marketing projects.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
