About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cutting Tool Grinder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in producing high-quality cutting tools by operating precision grinding machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Insert/Cutting Tool Grinding: Operate grinding machines to transform raw inserts or cutting tools into their specified geometries with precision and accuracy.
- Diamond Tool Grinding (Optional): Utilize diamond tool grinding techniques to enhance cutting tool performance and longevity (if applicable).
- Cutting Tool Knowledge: Demonstrate a solid understanding of various cutting tools, their applications, and machining requirements to optimize the grinding process.
- Process Control: Exercise meticulous process controls to ensure consistent results, minimize waste, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Machine Operation: Operate and maintain global standard tool grinding machines efficiently and reliably.
- Inspection & Quality Control: Perform regular inspections and quality checks on ground inserts or cutting tools to verify compliance with specifications.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with the team to identify and implement improvements to grinding processes and techniques.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of grinding activities, including process parameters and inspection results. Prepare regular reports to communicate progress and challenges.
- Safety & Clean Room Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and contaminant-free work environment.
Qualifications
- Essential: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in grinding cutting tools (from the cutting tools industry is preferred).
- Preferred: Experience with diamond tool grinding.
- Strong understanding of cutting tool geometry and machining processes.
- Ability to operate and maintain precision grinding machines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
