About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Datadog Engineer with a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our critical systems by leveraging the power of Datadog. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to identify and address performance issues, proactively monitor system health, and optimize our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Datadog Administration and Monitoring:
- Design, implement, and manage Datadog dashboards, alerts, and monitors for key performance indicators (KPIs) across our infrastructure.
- Utilize Datadog to identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and system failures.
- Proactively monitor system health and performance, and proactively address potential issues.
- Leverage Datadog to analyze system behavior and identify areas for improvement.
- SRE Practices:
- Implement and maintain SRE best practices, including incident response, capacity planning, and service level objectives (SLOs).
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely support for production issues.
- Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand their needs and gather requirements.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work effectively within a team environment and independently.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Datadog.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles and practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with integration technologies (OIC, SOA, WebLogic).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
- Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle, MySQL).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
